Ocuco is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Jens, OD, FAAO to its Board of Directors. The announcement comes as the company accelerates its strategic focus on expanding within the United States eyecare market.
Dr Jens is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in North American eyecare technology. Today, he is CEO of Sandbox Spaces, his executive business coaching and advisory firm serving eyecare businesses and software leaders. He also serves as Chief Medical Officer at Deya, an eyecare technology platform offering asynchronous tele-eyecare to allow eyecare professionals to extend care beyond their clinics through patient smartphones.
After a long career as a clinical optometrist who co-founded a large private practice, Dr Jens’ most notable software success was as co-founder and CEO of RevolutionEHR, the first cloud-based comprehensive optometry practice management and electronic health record platform. Under his leadership, it became the largest SaaS optometry EHR in North America, helping transform how independent practices adopted cloud technology.
His appointment marks an important step in Ocuco’s future strategy to expand its footprint within the US independent EHR market with its cloud-based full-practice software solution, Acuitas 3.

Dr Jens has also been an investor, board member, and adviser to numerous technology businesses, and has supported software founders through acquisition and growth strategies. He has also served his profession as a state and national volunteer leader, as well as his alma mater, the Illinois College of Optometry, on their Board of Trustees, including a term as Chair of the Board.
