Ocuco's Innovations User Group Meeting (UGM) 2025 convened more than 50 optical lab professionals representing labs from across the globe for a three-day event filled with insights, learning and networking opportunities. Held at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Clearwater, Florida, from 27–29 March, this year's event, themed "The Future is Bright," provided a platform for optical labs to explore advancements in Lab Management Software (LMS) and emerging technologies shaping the future of the industry.
Ocuco's customers were welcomed by the Ocuco Lab Division, which included LMS professionals from the Support, Operations, and Development teams. Their presence throughout the event ensured that attendees had direct access to the experts behind the Innovations LMS, reinforcing Ocuco's commitment to collaborative success and continuous innovation.
A significant event highlight was the opening keynote by Eimear Loughnane, AI leader and strategist at Slalom, titled "Artificial Intelligence: Art of the Possible." Her presentation examined how artificial intelligence can transform optical labs with real-world applications, strategic insights, and implementation pathways that deliver a real impact on efficiency and scalability.
On the second day of the conference, Alysse Henkel, Vice President of Research and InSights at The Vision Council, shared compelling market research in her session, "Understanding Lens Consumer Trends: Insights from 2024 and Future Outlooks." Attendees benefited from an in-depth analysis of shifting consumer behaviour, current market dynamics, and strategic forecasts for the year ahead.
The event also featured a session led by Paul Clare, OptiCommerce Founder, titled "Online Digital Solutions to Supercharge Lab Revenues." This talk introduced participants to OptiCommerce's all-in-one digital solutions, including custom eCommerce websites and seamless Lab Management System integration. Clare highlighted how targeted digital marketing and modern online tools can be leveraged to boost customer engagement and operational efficiency—ultimately driving increased revenue for labs.
Over 20 workshops were held to provide practical skills and advanced training on Innovations LMS. The workshops enabled lab professionals to deepen their expertise and optimise their lab operations in an interactive, hands-on format.
This year's Innovations UGM was supported by industry leaders, including IOT, Schneider Optical Equipment, SpecCheckRx, and Thai Optical Group, reinforcing the event's position as a key gathering for the global optical lab community.
