Our top Support tips over the Festive Period

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Whether you’re winding down your practice or remaining open during the festive season, we’ve got five support tips for you. We’ve teamed up with our experts to ensure the Christmas cheer lasts throughout the holidays, so you spend more time diving into the sweet tin and less time worrying about your business.

Ahead of rocking around the Christmas tree, ensure that your server (the main computer in your practice hosting your PMS and database), remains on. If you do intend on shutting down your server for the holiday season, please get in touch with our support team on 1890 927 093. This preparation means you’ll have more time to tuck into those Christmas puds in peace.

Before you step into Christmas, ensure you’ve shut down the rest of your PCs (excluding your server). Click the Windows icon on the left of the screen and hit the shutdown button to ensure your client PCs are properly turned off for the holiday period.

Keep in mind if you have turned off your server, your SMS services won’t send. When you re-open after the holidays, be mindful that your patients won’t receive those reminders on that day.

Baby it’s cold outside! Don’t have a blue Christmas and lose your customer data to floods, fire or any other natural disasters. Although it’s rare, it does happen. If you don’t use our online backup service, please back up your data securely on an encrypted external hard drive and keep it off site in a safe place. GDPR might be a distant trauma but can’t be forgotten, it’s your legal obligation to keep patient data stored securely. If you don’t know which files you need to safeguard, give our support team a call and they’ll walk you through which data you need to backup.
