Jim McGrann Joins Ocuco Board

Ocuco has announced the appointment of long-time optical industry executive Jim McGrann to its global board. McGrann will advise the group on its international growth, with a particular emphasis on guiding its North American strategy.

An engineer by background, McGrann started out in the MICD division of Arthur Andersen (now Accenture) in 1984. In 1993 he went on to work for IBM and helped develop its consulting and insurance industry businesses, until 1998 when he became partner at Ernst and Young. It was in 1999 that he took his first job in the optical industry with Marchon Eyewear as their first chief information officer. After the acquisition of Marchon by VSP Global in 2008, he served as president of Eyefinity-OfficeMate, chief technology officer of VSP Global, president of VSP Vision Care and then president and CEO of VSP Global until April of this year.

McGrann is currently president and CEO of HH&S Management Consulting, a New York-based firm focused on improving organizational health and wellness while enhancing company performance with an emphasis on winning in the marketplace, profitable growth, team building, culture enrichment and innovation.

“I look forward to being a part of this great team. I see Ocuco as a technology aggregator, positioned ideally to simplify the optical technology market and provide a one stop shop for technology services for the industry,” McGrann said.

Leo MacCanna, Ocuco Group CEO, said, “Our business is growing strongly both in the U.S. and globally, so it’s great to have a leader of Jim’s calibre working with us at this critical time.”

Ocuco is a global leader in eyecare software, with over 9,000 locations across 77 countries using its practice management, POS, EHR, omni-channel and lens manufacturing software. The company has been growing organically and via acquisition.
