The LMS is vendor independent, which means that equipment from multiple suppliers will integrate easily. Also, the LMS has no upper limit to how many machines are integrated into Innovations, allowing your lab’s unimpeded expansion.
Innovations records the movements of every job that passes through the system, allowing users to track the jobs status at every point in the production process. The module updates the order’s information as it advances through the lab, allowing critical status and flags to be added as required. This provides users with real-time job status feedback as well as a comprehensive history. When searching for a job users can filter by the job entry status, tray ID, Rx number, customer account / name, patient name, or the order ID.
Innovations has hundreds of reports in its portfolio covering all lab processes, providing information on new jobs, production and latency, breakages, remakes and lens inventory, to name a few. An uncomplicated user interface allows point-and-click selection of the desired report and the level of detail the operator wishes to be displayed. Users can edit any report in the collection, as well as creating their own custom reports, allowing an unlimited range of metrics to be viewed and employed. Reports can be viewed on the monitor, printed or exported as CSV files to be opened and configured, filtered and worked through Excel or similar spreadsheet applications for use in charts, graphs, histograms, or further utilised with business intelligence and data mining tools.
Web ordering provides Innovations users with an internet based application for their customers to easily place and track orders. The application is fully customisable, allowing each lab to configure logos, colours, field names, language, optional or mandatory fields, and minimum and maximum data ranges to their specifications. No set up is required on the part of retailers and the service is compatible with any web browser.
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) facilitates two-way communication between Innovations and customer owned Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Practice Management System (PMS) or other third party software. The ideal application for large retail chain and wholesaler customers; jobs flow directly into Innovations from the customer’s own system, which in turn receives order status updates, or item updates, directly from suppliers. Jobs also flow in from third party lab LMS or ERP systems, and the EDI link can automatically farm out jobs to other optical labs.
Innovations tracks usage of lenses, frames and other Rx and non-Rx materials, and generates purchase orders based on projected consumption. The Inventory manager identifies stock delivery and usage patterns to ensure that the lab is adequately provisioned; reducing costs to the business with minimum orders, alternative vendors, and reducing the capital that could be tied up in overstocked, slow moving, goods. In the case of shortages, these are fulfilled by special orders outside the normal replenishment cycle.

Including Zeiss, Seiko, Hoya, Shamir and many others, Innovations is also the largest distributor of IOT. Lens data from manufacturers comes preloaded on Innovations and Innovation integrates freeform lens surfacing effortlessly alongside conventional lenses, without requiring users to re-enter measurements multiple times.
Innovations automates your lab’s pricing and invoicing functions. When customers place orders with the lab, invoices are generated from associated price lists for lenses (including Rx and non-Rx orders), frames and miscellaneous items. These invoices can be edited, sent on a per order basis and grouped together into consolidated periodic invoices. Price lists can be general, set for individual customers, or groups of customers. The pricing module is flexible and can easily accommodate any price promotions the user wishes to apply. The pricing module automatically calculates sales tax and can process multiple currencies. Innovations includes an export function, which automatically transfers sales records to third party accounts software. Compatible with the majority of accounts packages including SAGE, SQL Accounts and QuickBooks.
Innovations plots the route for every order entered into the LMS through production path prediction, a set of rules which determine where the job is placed at each stage of the process. When the order is accepted the software calculates the optimal route based on the parameters of the job (which lens has been selected, the prescription, treatments), operator availability and equipment performance. This applies to both manually operated and automated production lines, both easily integrated with the Innovations LMS. Path prediction, the estimated time to job completion, is based on the requirements of the user, the capacity of the lab, and the number or jobs currently in production.
Ocuco automatically updates lens catalogue information, maintaining the industry’s most comprehensive lens database, with over 2.5 million SKUs including manufacturing data. Lens details are supplied by lens vendors and incorporated into the Innovations LMS, through automatic updates every fortnight, ensuring that our customers have an up-to-date and accurate lens catalogue. This saves the company time and effort that would be incurred through manual data entry and maintenance; however, the module facilitates users manually managing their lens database, independent of updates, if they wish.
