Garrey Haase
Yorkshire Eyewear was established in 2005 after Garrey Haase took over Michael James Opticians in Goole. With an emphasis on providing the highest quality eye care service, and investing in the industry’s leading edge technology, Yorkshire Eyewear has gone from strength to strength securing three more practices in Snaith, Howden and Knaresborough. Garrey Haase describes the effect that moving to Acuitas has had on his optical business across the group.
“Acuitas has made us much more efficient, because staff can only dispense what’s dispensable, because they know what frames we’ve got in stock so they’re not spending loads of time looking for frames. It’s made us much more efficient, because they make far less errors when ordering, because the module can link to our ordering system, and so we’re then not repeatedly making mistakes by transposing things incorrectly.
Its’ made us much more efficient because it’s much quicker than pen and paper. It’s also made me able to analyse and keep track of all the errors, so I can then look at if there is a training issue; we’re able to then resolve that by saying ‘we’ve made this mistake and it’s repeated, so therefore it’s a training issue’. And Acuitas gives me that power to be able to look at that, and it gives the staff the power to be able to look at it as well; so often they address it before I have to address it for them.
It’s made us much more efficient, because we’re able to keep a much tighter control on our stock, so we don’t have hundreds of frames sitting in the back that are never sold.”
